Are any of the 1969 reproduction side pipe covers an exact reproduction? In other words, correct everything including GM part numbers on the back side, etc.? If not what makes the best reproductions detectable? I am looking at a set for a friend, and don’t know if they are GM or repro.

I got mine from what was Paragon about 10 years ago, now corvette central I believe. Good quality and I couldn't find any differences from my originals that were in poor condition. I had a problem with a bubble showing up on the chrome of one of the pieces 8 years after purchase and Paragon sold me a replacement part at their cost. It was a fair compromise since the covers hadn't been installed. I have had the car judged twice since then and never lost any points on the side pipe covers.
