NCRS Chapter map

I'm in need of a chapter territory map for new member information. Can anyone assist me with this?
A PDF of the United States with the outline of the chapter area and contact info. would be great.
Prospective new members call in wanting information about the NCRS and this would help me as a requitement tool.

I don't know that Chapters have ever had borders, especially those that aren't named for specific states.

I think of the days not too long ago when Ohio had 5 Chapters. How would you divide them?
Where does the Delaware Valley become the Mid Atlantic?
St. Louis, Oklahoma and Nebraska aren't in the Heartland? And Midway is ...what?

I usually suggest the closest 1 or 2 Chapters, especially for non-state named Chapters.
If you were to map, I think there would have to be overlap.

The only thing I can think of is voting limitations. If I belong to the Northern California Chapter and live in New Hampshire, I can't vote for their Region Director. If I attend their chapter meet I can vote for chapter officers.

Saying that, Larry Colvin probably has a list of what chapters are in states/regions.

David K. You can direct people interested in Chapter Membership to the Contacts list in the "Help" drop-down. Most of the chapters' "territory" is self-explanatory by the name of the chapter, or the address of the contact.

There are no boundaries for chapters. As long as one is a current member of National, you can belong to any or as many chapters as one wishes. Hence the suggestion to recommend perusing the contacts page and make an inquiry.

I'm curious to know this answer, I recognize that it may not be easy to cull from the database, but of the 10k-ish National members, how many are members of a Chapter? Of those, how many are members of multiple chapters?

And how many got Don's remark in post #4 ? Good one, Don.

The majority of North Central Chapter's members are based in MN, ND, SD, Western WI and Manitoba.
We also have members in AZ, FL, IA, IL, IN, NE and OH.
I can provide a map if that would be beneficial.

FYI - roughly 50% of the NCRS members in Texas are Texas Chapter members and it's been that way for years.

Chapter Membership Managers have access to the NCRS members that are in their geographic area that are not Chapter members.

Hi Dave!

Given the unclear boundaries some are mentioning, I'm wondering if people calling in would benefit from knowing which chapter is closest to them based on the typical site(s) of events.

The map could include pin points of the central location of each chapter (if this exists even, like where are a majority of events held), for example, the majority of North Central events are held in the Twin Cities area, even though we have members from across the region (and US). Then the caller can better visualize which chapter is closest in proximity even if it may not be in their state.

This idea may not work well if other chapters have a much wider range of locations for events, but just a thought for the visual, as I know some people like myself benefit from maps/layouts like that. I'm also happy to design the map for you regardless once more data is collected. Happy to workshop this too.

I used a free app (see 1^st link below mapcustomizer.com) to create a map of all of our Chapters using the contact address for each. When you are in the app, if you enter the data correctly each numbered button brings up the Chapter Name and address (some can get a little goofy)…

The numbers on the maps are linked to my input spreadsheet below.
They are alphabetical by Chapter name, but the app requires that the address be entered as the 1^st
characters.

Dunno if this is what you’re after or not…and I’m sure to get what you want the way you want it, you’ll probably have to use one of the other apps I saw (2nd and 3rd links)…some look pretty powerful to do what you want, but they don’t have free “test runs”

Carolinas Chapter is very easy North Carolina and South Carolina. As with everyone else we have members from all over but our original charter was 2 states when we split from the SE Chapter back in 1996.
