My 1965 Corvette was experiencing a turn signal issue where both left and right indicators would flash simultaneously, even when only the left signal was activated.
After troubleshooting, I determined the problem originated with the aftermarket turn signal switch in the steering column hub. Upon inspection, I found that the spring contacts on the aftermarket switch were misaligned compared to an original switch. See photos.
To rectify the issue, I replaced the aftermarket switch with an original good unit. This resolved the erratic turn signal behaviour.
This experience highlights a potential issue with the quality of some aftermarket turn signal switches. Has anyone else had problems with these aftermarket switches?
If you encounter similar issues, I recommend checking the alignment of the contacts on your switch.
In my case, reverting to the original switch successfully resolved the issue. I hope this information proves helpful to other Corvette owners.1.jpg
