Did 63's have Clutch cross shaft felt end seals in them? I don't see that in the AIM or called out in the judging manual.

I see that the AIM doesn't show them, but it does show a part just inboard of the frame bracket that isn't labeled. I recall my SWC having felt washers on both ends of the cross shaft, and I replaced them (bought from GMPD) when I rebuilt the clutch linkage back in the seventies.
Page 0-19, 1968-77 "Y" Clutch Control, of the 2-77 revision of the Corvette IPB shows a "stud dust seal" on both the inboard and outboard side of the cross shaft (Group 0.851) It's bit confusing, but here are the listed parts from my 9-77 revision of the parts catalog. Maybe Joe Lucia can give us more info on what they are.
63-78 3743360 WASHER, stud dust seal L. H. frame (felt 9/16" x 1 3/8" O. D.)
63-64 [NPN] WASHER
74-78 3743355 WASHER, stud dust seat, to engine (felt 1/2" I.D. x 1 O.D.) [yes, it says "seat", but I'm sure it should be "seal"]
68-78 3756326 WASHER, stud to frame (61/64" x 9/16") i
Also note that the AIM shows a zerk fitting (9411010) in the cross shaft, NOT the later plastic seal. The IPB page reference above does show a "plug", N.S. [not serviced]

The clutch cross shaft did not come to the St. Louis plant as an assembly. That's why the individual parts are shown in the AIM. It was probably assembled off-line, except the engine stud and inner seal, which were installed on the engine dress line. Then the line worker pushed the cross shaft over the engine stud (and may have had a tool to shove the inner felt seal in), slipped the outer stud over the frame bracket, secured the nut, bent over the tabs, and then installed the cross shaft to clutch fork rod. The upper pushrod from the interior clutch linkage would have been part of the body build and then connected to the cross shaft after body drop.
If the felt seals were not installed, then why are they listed in the parts catalogs?
Since these parts are applicable from '63 through the late seventies, others can help by telling us the parts listed in later year AIMs that they have.
As I previously stated, I do recall that my SWC's clutch cross shaft had felt seals on both ends and being the original owner and doing all my own work on the car, the clutch cross shaft had never been rebuilt until I removed and rebuilt it in the seventies as part of an engine overhaul.
