    Wiper Motor ID

Trying to figure out what I got in the car for a wiper motor. Hard to get access with all the wiring. I could make out the red circle on the label does say "rebuilt" around it. Am guessing because of that blue color it is not GM? I have seen some Dorman and Carquest on line in that color. Not much to go on I know. But mostly trying to confirm it is not GM?
    Thanks

Keith, the correct wiper motor for your car would be natural zinc die cast with a zinc-plated housing attached. The maker would place a foil tag on the housing and the 1969 is #5044731. Also, there would be a julian date on the foil tag. For 1969, an additional valve was attached to the wiper assembly on the driver's side to operate the headlight washer system. Your picture appears to show that some of those parts are missing. This valve/solenoid/bracket assembly has been reproduced and can be found at some vendors, and on ebay. The housing has a cast number on the rear of the housing which can't be seen when the wiper motor is mounted. I don't have access for the correct casting number for a late '69 right now, but maybe someone will have that.
A word of caution, once you have the correct motor & headlamp washer installed, check, and double check that all your electrical connections are correct. I've seen evidence of underhood fires caused by a wiper motor.

The blue color and the label do indicate a rebuild. It may be Cardone, I don't recall.

FYI, I've successfully removed the blue paint, applied a reproduction label, and had a wiper motor judged completely correct.
So, don't think that it's completely useless.
