Hello, is it possible that someone can supply me a photo of the correct primary and secondary throttle return spring installation on a 1957 fuel injection unit? I am working on a friend's car and the previous owner installed universal springs, He ordered the correct springs and bracket from one of the suppliers and I would like to be sure of the correct installation. As always, thank you so much for all the help, John

Hello Gary, thank you for the input. I saw this in the AIM, however it does not show the secondary spring and bracket that attaches to one of the ignition coil mount bracket bolts. The AIM shows the primary spring but not the secondary spring. I will install the bracket when he gets the parts and check for mount points on the linkage. Thanks again for your time, John- Top

While dual return springs are a Really Good Idea, and as a practical matter I recommend them, to the best of my knowledge only a single return spring was used in '57.
Here is how dual springs would be implemented on '62 and older FI installations:
