66 427 hood grille sealer

Looking to find out the type of sealer used on the 66 BB hood grilles , i was thinking 3m strip caulking
but would like to make sure before i do it

From the '66 AIM, UPC 0, D7 "3857030 plastic cement, used to cement hood panel intake grill shield to hood".

Leif thanks for the info. With that sealer not available does anyone know of a type of sealer that will pass judging

To be clear, you are looking for the black sticky rope caulk that usually turns hard, but in colder climates may still be pliable?



I found a match that is extremely close, if that's what your talking I can get a pic from the box this weekend.

I assumed it was a sealer like black strip caulk which would makes sense but the AIM calls for a glue ,I am leaning toward the strip caulk unless I am advised of something different
