1963 spare tire lid retainer bolt

I picked up an early 1963 spare tire tub, lid and retainer bolt assembly last week. I'm not able to find much info about the lid retainer bolts used in 1963. I couldn't find any discussion about it on the NCRS site and Noland's book only makes a brief mention that there are different retainer designs. That said, can someone comment about the different lid retainer bolt assy designs, approx which VINs had each and which design is the assembly is the one shown in the pics below?

Rick, What is the serial number of the car you'll be putting this on. That rear retainer bolt is good through all of 63. The front bolts changed as the year went on.

Thanks for that info. My car is #8115 but the carrier on it is in about the same condition. Thus I don't think I'll be putting my newly acquired spare tire carrier on my car. I'm going to check the retainer bolt on my car though and if it is incorrect, I'll restore this one and put in on my car.

Unfortunately, the long bolts were not included with this new to me carrier.

no, I bought it from Terry at Proteam as a project car. It was purchased new by a guy in Indiana i believe. He bought it for his son. The son had no idea why it was Blue?Green and didn't want to really talk about the car. I never got any info from him.

More options depending on VIN. I've seen these.

Looks like we have all 3 style bolts here. Harry has posted the early and mid style bolts. Danny has posted the late style. We're working on identifying when the changes occurred.

Here are pics of my spare tire lug wrench "box" on the lid and the front bolts. I don't know if the the carrier, lid or bolts were original to the car as the car was restored in the mid-1990s. The prior owner may have re-plated the front carrier bolts as he did for many of the components on the car.

Rick, You are ALL good for a 8000 serial number range. Correct hanger bolts, correct tub and correct Metal V and box.

My lock doesn't have a weep hole. I don't know the history of the lock and whether it was original to the car as the man who restored the car in the mid-1990s is deceased.
