    67 40433 fuel pump 327/350 horse questions

I'm in need of a 40433 fuel pump for my '67 327/350 horse engine. I know I'm not going to find a dated one or one with a part number, but I'd like one with the AC logo on it so I don't get a complete deduction. I can't find any vendors that advertise even a fair reproduction fuel pump with an AC logo.

    Thank you in advance.

David was at our Regional last week, I didn't find out I needed one until yesterday.

        Tim,
Great seeing you in Frisco. There are no reproduction fuel pumps with the AC logo being made. As you're aware, the '67 fuel pump is of the crimped design and I'm not aware of anyone rebuilding them. David may have a good functioning original (don't know that I would trust a 50+ year old diaphragm)...he seems to have just about everything. Best of luck in your hunt!

Fred Ballard rebuilds the crimped style fuel pumps. He rebuilt a 1967 40482 fuel pump for me.

          Here's his info...

Leif, you answered my question, no good replacements are available. I'll have the service replacement 40503 I pulled off rebuilt, it's as close as I can get to correct.
It was good to see you, also.

              Tim,
I had the same situation. I found a new 40503 on ebay that had some finish deterioration so I did some cosmetics on it. Seems to work OK at this point. Good luck.

Thank you, Mark. The 40503 seems to be the best option for partial points.

Would an in-line electric fuel pump be able to pump through the mechanical pump?

That might be a way to retain the original pump.

My pump is a service replacement, that wouldn't be a good option. I'd rather just put an O'Reiley pump on. They make a good one that has the correct pressure.

I ink stamped my currently available AC Delco pump judges scratched there heads and made a small deduction

Three years ago I needed to get my 67 327/300 ready to go through the NCRS.
i had replaced the org pump back in 2000 when it quit working, just bought one at the parts store and all was fine.
now i needed to find a original one.
told as many people as i could that I was looking for one. took 8 weeks and i got a call if I still needed one
I said yes and he said he would send me a box, look inside, if you like what you see send me what you think it is worth.
got the box and inside was a original pump.
sent to to Fred and got it back 12 weeks later. it was perfect.
total cost for all of this was $900.00 but the car now had a correct pump back in it
just keep looking.....you never know what you might find.

                          Tim,

I went through this same scenario about 3 months ago and a #40366 for 65/66 396 & 427. This was a rebuilt one that I had acquired some years ago from CC and it started leaking from the vent hole. I had another one that had been on the car for some time prior that showed signs of seepage so I hesitated to put it on. You can not buy a new correct style 40366 from anyone regardless if it stamped AC or not. The only solution seems to be to use a 67 #40482 and then you need a special brass adapter fitting to be able to connect the outlet fuel line. I got a pump from Summit ( made by Carter ) and the brass fitting from Zip. It all works but it should not be that difficult.

Fortunately, a fine member came to my rescue. My intention was to find a vendor that had something suitable, but those are no longer available. I ended up with a correct part number original.
