1966 Headrests

Would the the headrest option (A82) have been available on a ‘66 with a VIN in the low 1700’s or did they become available later in the production run?

Hello Mike,
I'm not sure if you are asking about the body build date, or VIN # sequence, but I will share both you.

My '66 is a Coupe with a Body Build date A-1457. and the last 5 of the VIN are 07839. The car was built on December 8,1965. It does have the A82 option, and I have all the original paperwork including the window sticker, invoice and Warranty booklet to validate the options on this car.

Mike - I was under the impression that the A82 Headrest Option was available throughout the 66 model year run. My 66 Mosport Coupe has headrests on Dark Green interior and it's VIN is in the 54XX range.

I am working on the L72 restoration and want to have the headrests.I want the shoulder belts but probably would not be appropriate for my VIN.

Mike J- I have some paperwork for a 1966 that started the order process on 9-15-65.
The 'EARLY' 66 order form didn't have the headrest seats, so it was hand written in.

Mike T- The paperwork on this car went back & forth to Zone (due to BB option changes)... the VIN ended up in the 54XX range.
(too bad itz a different color scheme... you had me double checking)

Mike check your Trim Tag if your car came with headrest check for codes like JA or CG or other code numbers that would be stamp on your Trim Tag beside Trim to see what some of the options the car came with.

Check with Bill C. If you have STD interior, there are no exceptions as far as the ECL book.
