Question On C2 Convertible Door Jam Wedges

I have noticed through my years of looking at C2 Convertibles that these wedges(See Below) have extra holes next to the wedges. Most of the C2's have this. Why is this? Did the factory do
this for any reason perhaps for adjustment? Thanks in advance>Larry

Added Info. My 66 Convertible DOES NOT HAVE THAT (NOT SURE THE NAME OF THAT
THING NEXT TO THE WEDGE SHOWN) above. Larry

Larry, those holes or circles are the rivets holding the steel nut plate to the fiberglass. They wouldn't screw the wedge directly to the fiberglass so there is a thin steel reinforcement rivetted to the door.
