    Corvette restorer cd wanted

Does anyone have a 1953-55 Corvette Restorer cd if it even existed? I think it is long out of print. Thanks.

    Mark,

Don't recall if there was a 53-55 Restorer CD-ROM or not.

Link to Restorer articles https://www.ncrs.org/contact/Restorer_Index.pdf that you can search through for any 53-55 articles and the Restorer issues they appeared in. That might assist you in finding the Restorers themselves to purchase.

Thanks Gary. Specifically I'm looking for any pictures or articles on 1953 #30. Or current owner if it's been flighted.

        Mark,

        Check C1 Registry https://www.c1registry.com/index.php?job=ShowRegistry

Searching the Restorer Article Index and Google search for #30.

If you want NCRS award history, you'd have to order https://www.ncrs.org/services/histor...nt-service.php Car Award Confirmation Service.

Did that, The owner listed no longer owns the car. Actually, I spoke with the person who restored last week. Last thing I found for it was it was sold at barret-jackson in 2018. I guess the car could be anywhere in the world at this time. It was my mother in laws car, she was the second owner.

            Mark,

Another option is to hire someone that hunts down Corvette owners by VIN. Unfortunately, Bill Gould has retired.

            Good luck,

I have been working on the new version of the complete Restorer set up to the most recent issue. Big project, took several months and it's in management's hands. Will be on a USB flash drive, will load much faster and fully searchable using standard Adobe Acrobat tools. The previous versions on DVD did not include many topics so that was one improvement. Over 10,000+ pages, organized by volume/edition. Probably available by the end of the year or sooner.

Many thanks. Update has been needed for a long time.. ALL the Restorer adds a lot of missing material.

The DVD version of the Corvette Restorer series has been upgraded to a USB thumb drive and includes all editions as of January 2025. Vinnie Peters, Dave King from the store and I have been working on this for the last several months and it is now available in the NCRS store. The USB format will work on any PC or MAC and is in ADOBE searchable format. Roughly 11,000 pages (50+years X 4 editions).

The document is structured using a combination of bookmarks and page links which will appear on the left panel when the document is opened. Some knowledge of ADOBE navigation features is a plus, but if anyone needs help feel fee to private message me.

The USB version will load much faster than the prior DVD and searches should also be much faster. Obviously, the content is protected by copyright laws with certain ADOBE restrictions applicable as per NCRS management.

Thomas I'm happy to see that thumbdrive available after all this time in PDF format and I'm sure it was a lot of work. At $235 it is quite an investment for a member to make, especially given it's outdated as soon as the next restorer is out. I'm not keen on stacks and stacks of magazines laying around and of course hardcopy is not easily "searchable". I bought the old CD 17 years ago, and of course it doesn't work on todays computers, but I've occasionally done text searches on it downloaded to a folder but PDFs would be better.

Are there any plans to allow an update of the PDFs at a nominal fee? I'd suggested a subscription model in the past, but I'm sure there are lots of considerations for that.

                          Ian,
Login into the web page. Member price is $160.00
$235.95 is a non-member price. That also come with a membership.

I see it now, thank you David. The forum keeps logging me out. $160 is easier to swallow for sure.

I just checked and it looks like you can now download the restorer in PDF format as well. I may be wrong but I don't think you could do that before. I really want to avoid shelling out $160 and still needing to store stacks of magazines. So looks like that problem is solved

The restorer issues do not exist in digital format for download except for the most recent edition at any given time. Had all of the previous editions been available, there would not have been a need for the prior DVD version, nor the current USB version. The prior DVD version stopped at year 2016 as well.

There is a value in having a consolidated version in that any topic can be found quickly by using keywords, author's name, and any number of other searchable terms. The DVD did not contain every article in every edition nor did it contain other non-technical information.

This was a 100% voluntary effort on my part and I'm certainly not acting as a "sales person" but I can tell you for sure that the amount of information contained in this set is enormous. I learned a lot and came across articles that dealt with many projects I had undertaken with my 63 and 67 and having this information would have been a big help.
