67 Owners Manual Bag Contents Question

My searching has not yielded an answer to my question, so here I go. I have a 67 I recently purchased, VIN #142. The car has most of it's owners manual bag contents with the exception of the trim ring instruction card. I have noticed original cards are dated Sept. 23rd of 66, and my car's "official" build date is September 9th.

Is it safe to assume the very early cars did not get the instruction card?

    Thanks,
    Tim

Just a couple observations... not sure if they really have any value to you:
    • The 1967 Trim Ring Instruction Sheet is dated 9-23-66
(not sure what that date coincides with... I don't have access to drawings/revisions/ECR/etc)
    • The 1967 Assembly Manual (AIM) bottom REVISION date for the addition of the Trim Ring Instruction Sheet is 1-23-66
(reviewed a couple AIM books, I don't believe itz a misprint... more of a coincidence for the day & year)
    • The same 1-23-66 date has the Owner's Guide changing... that listing/replacement is actually for a 1966 part number.
(if people claim the AIM is really dated 9-23-66, do they crazily believe early 67 Corvettes got a 1966 Owner's Guide)
    • Since the 1967 Corvette was a carryover (C3 was late in development), perhaps some AIM pages had modified 66 data.
(no sense starting from scratch... where applicable, use the info/data/sketches from the previous year)
    • The placement of the Trim Ring Instruction Sheet was in the middle of the page... likely filling a void (old KO Card location).
While the addition of the Trim Rings themselves, were inserted earlier (previous/earlier Revision Dates), but placed lower.
(more 'paper' type items are typically seen higher on the Misc Shipping List)

    .
Given that, I'd speculate that the Trim Ring Instructions were a late UPDATE/PRINTING to actual production... forgotten in the shuffle.
(not uncommon... the WRONG radio instruction hang tags were used for the majority of 1967 production)
Someone at the factory (or perhaps a dealer) alerted Chevy that instructions were called for/missing/needed for the owners.
(and this seemz to somewhat mimic the KO Wheel Instruction Card having a date of 4-28-64... that was well into 64 production)

I hope you could follow my silly bouncing ball educated guess... as usual, your mileage may vary.

UPDATE: I had searched some other AIM's that I have... date wise, nothing was definitive as to the Mics Shipping Lists.
Just went back again, and see I missed something regarding these instructions for 1967 Passenger Cars (sorry).
Although the upper page didn't display a 'Revision Circle/Number'... the part number was listed in the lower Revisions.
As you can read, the Trim Ring Instructions (3913832) were added on 10-20-66... seemingly, after production started.
Then again, the AIM dates are not hard & fast assembly line dates... simply a guide for us.

Thanks for the follow up Jack. I am just wanting to have my ducks in a row when I start to campaign the car next year. I suspect I'll have to print off the page in order to properly object to a deduction. If anyone else has something else to contribute, I'm all ears.

        Thanks,
        Tim
