    75 replacement ball joints

I bought the correct looking ball joints; however, I cannot get grease to go into them and they feel really stiff. Is this normal? Also, when I assembled the suspension, it was hard to turn the spindle by hand. I not going to have this car judged so if these are bad joints what would be a better joint to buy?

    Thanks,
    Danny

New ball joints are typically stiff.... Turning the spindle by hand will be additionally hard if you have power steering....... greasing could be difficult depending on what type/style grease gun you have, (how much leverage you have) but they should eventually accept grease.

        Hi Gary, Stephen,

Thanks for the information. I bought them from an online corvette parts catalog dealer which most are selling the same part, so you are properly right that America's finest manufactured them. I read what it said in the post and now I am thinking of replacing them with ones that are better for everyday driving. Do you guys have any suggestion on which to buy for that?

        Best,
        Danny

These particular replacements, like all of the vehicles manufactured today, are non-greasable.
There is nothing wrong with driving on them in their current state.
Trying to grease them is a waste of time. The zerk is there for appearance (NCRS points) only.

Well I wasted a bunch of time there didn't I?
Never new this but I haven't R&R'ed BJs in 8-10 years. Didn't know anyone made standard looking fully sealed joints. After market high end non chineasium, yes.

Patrick, so the boots are affixed in such a manner as their not removable and totally seal the joint from water and dirt....IE by wiring it down like Spicer Blue Boot BJs are??

Anybody have a link to view?

No chineasium junk ever goes into my vehicles.

I have had the AFC ball joints and A arms for over 15 years, 38K miles, no problems at all, no they do not take grease, sealed.

I didn't buy them from this site but if I did, I would have known that they are non-greaseable. The vendor I bought from didn't state this information.

                      Thanks all that replied,

These new design Ball Joints are just like the GM originals in shape and size. They feature correct shape boots and proper metal retainers and castings. They come pre-greased with EP2 Grease and are now a sealed unit that does not require any additional grease. Zerk fitting is for cosmetic purposes only. Rivets shown not included. If you would like to include a set of 4 lower ball joint rivets we have 2 options available to you. The first style is an OEM style correct rivets that that will give you a true factory appearance but will require a special rivet installation tool. The other option is a set of threaded rivets that will allow you to simply bolt the lower ball joint into your car we highly recommend using thread locker and or peening over the end of the thread so that they cannot back out once you have installed them. These are a great option for a daily driver or a car you are not worried about keeping 100% factory correct.Fitment: 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 C2, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 C3 Corvette
