1966 big block fan shroud

Looking to replace the fan shroud on a 66 390 hp A/C car. The existing shroud is pretty beat up and would be difficult to repair.

The vendor replacement shrouds have a hole on the upper left side. The first picture attached shows the hole marked with a red arrow. The picture is actually from an eBay listing that says it is a restored original and it does not have a hole.

The second picture is of the shroud from the car we are working on. It does not have the hole. It really looks to be an original.

I have an old 66 judging guide, but it doesn't mention this area as far as I can find.

Which is correct?

This no way a 66 BB shroud. There has been a lot written here, going back about 12 years...

You want original - send email.

The pass side is at best a 67.

The first hard part to cut are the AC slots, I use a no one wants ac 327 for the slots, the second part is the alternator cooling.

Any thing closed off is a 68 misrepresented as C2.....that Does Not! fit a mid year with out mods.

68 was a C3, yes GM made that the service part with modification required, its plain wrong in 1,2,3,4 maybe 5 6,7 areas...
