C2 Hard top Rear Plugs - Where did all the R's come from

I know there was a thread about this back ten years, but not finding it via the search.

I recently glanced thru a collection of decklids (>50) and of those still retaining hardware most all had the R stamped in the top of the plug.

If R was NTFP, where did they all come from such that a collection largely assembled in the 80s would have so many with the R?

I don't recall the early red/black paragon packaged parts having the R either...

      Ronald, how about a picture.

If the part you are talking about is the one I am thinking about, that was not a production part. All the plugs are aftermarket. So an R or no R doesn't mean anything.

That is a different part than I was thinking. I'll start to look around.

That was the bolt that attaches the hardtop to the deck. When you take the hardtop off it was removed from the hardtop and used to close-up the hole in the deck to keep the water out.

The tip has the rubber tit installed to not cause a scratch in your skin or anything you stowed under the deck.

This is all I can find in the C2 hardtop AIM.
