I have a 67-passenger seat stuck in the full aft position. The release arm and spring seems to be working but the seat will not slide forward at all. Because the seat is all the way back, I can't access the rear fasteners to remove the seat. I can't feel anything under the seat that would cause a jam but there is little room to see or get a hand near the tracks. Appreciate any thoughts on how to approach this dilemma.

Re: 67 coupe seat stuck
I've attached a photo of the tracks.
1) make sure the release arm/tab is clearing the track latch slot in the track.
2) there are/were nylon guides in the tracks which possibly have become jambed causing your problem.
3) is the release handle "bent" so that it hits the track BEFORE it clears the latch slot?
I would obtained one of those "dent puller" slide hammers from Harbor Freight, connect it to the seat frame with wire or (?) and use it to "shock" the seat forward. (Don't forget to position the relase handle for moving the seat)- Top

Re: 67 coupe seat stuck
Stephen,
Thank you very much for your reply. I will check on each of your suggestions. Sorry for the delay in my reply, I have been sidetracked by some unanticipated (non-car related) events. As soon as I can I, I will get back to this project. I happen to have a slide hammer so that's no problem. I also thought of using some kind of bore scope to look at the mechanism, but I don't know how effective that would be or what type to get. I have no experience with this tool.- Top
