6 ior 7 inch Torque Thrusts for my 62

I want to get some torque Thrusts for my 62. I'm running 205/75R15s, which still have the stickers on them.

I'm assuming they'll work fine with a 6 inch wheel? What about a 7 inch wheel?

I like the look of the wheels on Leno's 57, but I like the look of this one better

Would the 7 inch wheel and tire fit into the space for the spare?

Neither one will fit in the spare tire tub. Even the repro 6.70 bias plys on stock steel wheels barely fit.

The recommended wheel width range for a 215/70 is 5.5-7.5 inches, and since the 205/75 is narrower a six inch wheel is okay.

I think a 7" wheel will work okay on a '62, but needs the correct offset, and a 205/75 will look pretty stretched on a 7" wheel. A 215/70 or 225/70 would be better. If you want the car to stick better than the typical low speed rated, no nylon cap belt 205/75 "van tire" check out the W-rated 215/70R15 Vredestein Sprint Classic.

You'll probably find more info over at the Corvette Forum on this subject.

Use an OE wheel for a spare and a worn 6.70 or 205/75 as a spare. If you have to buy new shaving down to the tread wear indicators should help it fit the spare tire tub.

<205/75 will look pretty stretched on a 7" wheel.

I hate that look, reminds me of a lowrider.

I'll have to see what the spare looks like. It's pretty old. I was thinking of using a 6 inch American for the spare tire and as a spare wheel, but I guess not.

        Thanks

I run a VW radial for a spare in my 62, I believe it is a 175x80x15, fits great.
