1963 Rear License Assembly Ground Wire

When I removed the assembly to repaint, I was unable to see where the black & white ground wire attached. You can see in the photo that that wiring harness clip (was also attached with the screw and nut - AIM shows it was originally bonded?). The ground wire shows no evidence of being attached to the star washer and placing it flat on the fiberglass would not insure proper grounding. The AIM order shows star washer, then flat/lock washer, then nut, but does not show where the ground wire inserts. I think it should go between the two washers but wanted to confirm.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Fred

    Fred,

The AIM illustration you posted does show a short pigtail ground wire coming out of the harness to the clip located between the two washers.

Thanks Arland - couldn't make it out at first. I put the ground wire between the two washers with the nut secure, then attached the harness clip on top with another nut/star washer combo to secure it.

      Thanks,
      Fred
