    1960 Heater Hose Routing

I'm sorry if I'm asking a repeat question, but I searched the TBD and didn't see anyone ask this. I just bought a set of heater hoses from CC with the ribs (and no GM logo). I have the hoses routing correctly through the fender bracket, under the fresh air hose, and through the generator bracket, per the AIM, but there's way too much excess length. Are these hoses correct length or do they have to be trimmed?

    Thanks.
    Pete

The ones that I received a couple months ago from CC had to be trimmed.

      Thanks Mark.
It's strange that CC has specific lengths called out for the ribbed hoses with GM logos, but not the ribbed only hoses.

FWIW, both heater hoses are just ribbed with no GM logo per JG

Tom, Thank you for confirming. I had the hoses with the GM logo installed for several years and recently had to change them because of a fan belt mishap. As we get older. one does careless things. Here's the story. I was changing spark plugs, wires, etc. and shifted one hose in the generator bracket to get more room to remove the plug. Well. I got the tune up done and went out for a drive. I came home, parked in the garage and went into the house. I came back into the garage later and smelled coolant. I noticed the heater hose squirting coolant because it was rubbing against the fan belt. I safely cracked the radiator cap to relieve pressure and minimize the mess. The bottom line, I forgot to move the hose back. So, the latest edition of the JG, AIM, and your book have helped get things correct.
