c2 fuel gauge reads half full when full

Had the original fuel sending unit on our '66 coupe rebuilt by Wolfe & Co four years ago. Read okay for a while, but now reads half full when the tank is full. Seems to be pretty accurate as the tank level goes down from there. Any thoughts on this? Grounding issue? Thanks in advance.

1/2 is default on the way the Guage is made Wheatstone bridge versus resistor
