Will not start after long drive

Corvette is a 327 / 350HP and runs smooth and strong until it gets hot. The car starts fine and pulls great thru the gears.
After driving for 15 minutes on a 80 degree day and stopping the engine then rough idles and then stalls out. Will not restart if I were to not touch the gas OR keep the pedal to the metal. After sitting for 30 minutes or more it starts fine and drives fine.
I have put a spacer between the carb and manifold and that has no effect.

Does it turn over? If so, does it turn over normally?
Can you see gas in the carb if you press the accelerator down?

Yes, it turns over normally.
I can see gas discharged from the accelerator pump.

Check engine grounds and starter connections.
Check the multiwire connector on the firewall.

This is assuming your timing is reasonable and has been checked recently.

Since it has fuel, I wonder if the coil is getting heat soaked with thermal rise from the engine heat. I'd try a quick coil change after verifying spark/no spark. Napa IC12 laid in there when hot as a quick test.

Since it has fuel, I wonder if the coil is getting heat soaked with thermal rise from the engine heat. I'd try a quick coil change after verifying spark/no spark. Napa IC12 laid in there when hot as a quick test.
