    Domenic Tallarita

I contacted Dom a few days ago about rebuilding an A6 unit. Had a good 45 minute conversation with a very interesting man! We are talking about a professional pilot who flew presidents in Air Force One! Anyways, Dom is no longer rebuilding these units as he lost his lease at Palm Springs airport. To make a very very long story short he is in legal battles with the airport and his stuff is locked up in hangers and he is not allowed to access it. The Corvette community has lost a valuable asset for A/C compressor repair. Beyond that, he has really been having a tough go in life. Recently he has lost both a son and a daughter and he was heading over to the hospital to visit with his dying wife.
He asked that I post a note about his hard time as he has let his membership lapse due to his continuing legal battles and to say hi to everyone. My thoughts are that we should all keep him in your thoughts and prayers. If you know Dom personally, call him, as I am sure he would love to talk to anyone, even if only to vent and keep his mind off his wife.
    All for now.

Jeez my heart goes out to such a good man. When my sons were playing hockey their school had a fund to help families who could not afford the ice time.

My thoughts and prayers will be going out to Dom...what a terrific gentleman he is. I got to know Dom several years back when he rebuilt my A6 compressor for my '67. We visited numerous times over the phone for lengthy conversations. Dom is such an interesting guy and always willing to take time to share. I remember when his son was shot (in his home garage) several years back by a burglar and barely survived that attack.
I will give Dom a call in the next few days.
Yes, his skill set will be sorely missed by all who had A6 compressors rebuilt/restored by him...he did several for a good friend who restores '69-'70 Pontiac Grand Prix. I will, also, miss his contributions here on the TDB.
They say that God only gives you as much as he knows you can handle. Dom sure has a bunch on his plate right now.

Very sorry to hear this, he is a fine man. I spoke to him after he lost his son and helped out some. I lost track of him after he rebuilt my '66's compressor. I need to touch base with him again. Thanks for the update Fuelie John.

Ug, sad news, sorry to hear this happened to a great person. I've spoken and exchanged emails with Dom many times over the years. He restored the compressor on my 63 and many for other chapter members here.

          Hoping for the best!

I'm EXTREMELY sorry to hear of this. This amounts to a virtually overwhelming chain of life-shattering events. Please wish Dom my best.

Really hate to read this, worked with Domenic extensively rebuilding many early A-6 compressors and early clutches. He is a fantastic guy. His work second to none. His detailed work was extraordinary. Yes, he has had a lot of sorrows. I hope he gets this worked out. He is the only source I am aware of for this type of quality work.

I'm so saddened to hear his son and daughter have passed. Last time I talked with Dom (a couple of years ago) he was helping with his son's recovery. I'll definitely reach out to him.

                    I don’t know Dom,
but seems like he’s a great guy who has helped out a lot of folks and is an asset to the corvette community.
I also don’t know if finances are the reason he hasn’t renewed his NCRS but if so, I’d gladly pay it for him.

Can anyone send a pm on the best way to do this.

no need to pm it.. Just contact the Membership Chairman. Marilyn Heintzman; find her under Contacts in tool bar above.. Tell her who you want to pay membership for, and then give her your CC or Paypal info. She will have Dom's member info in her records.

Thank you for the update on Dom. I have him down to call on his birthday and always enjoy talking with him. The calls tend to get long and are always enjoyable. He has vast knowledge from working at a dealership in an earlier period of his life. Thank you again and I will be giving him a call soon. Paul

never did hear from Marilyn Heintzman.

I did get some Venmo request from a Marilyn Higgins but looked to be a scam?
