Congratulations Vito!

Your service and respect in NCRS, and workings with NCM in the past, will serve both organizations quite well. From my perch which sits afar from the inner sanctum of NCRS, the distant between the organizations is obvious as one who joined both organizations in the 90s. My hope is that you'll forge a renewed relationship and one that leverages the NCRS mission to the 35,000 members of NCM. They have a tremendous market reach we have yet to penetrate to the extent it could.

I would be interested to hear if you have given thought to "plan of work" if you wish to call it that going forward as a member of the NCM board. Perhaps an informal session at the National Convention where the exchange of ideas, I'm sure would be beneficial. This would especially hold true if members of the NCM were present at Hampton Roads as they were last year. Some theme like "how the two organizations can collaborate to move both missions forward."

My brief history with NCM was, like many here, the Grand Opening in September 1994. I joined a few years later when the word went out in the theoes of its financial woes, meeting with a group from the Corvette Forum who agreed to go back home and do something. In 1997, a small group; of Corvette enthusiasts formed the Corvette club of Myrtle Beach and planned fund raisers (NASCAR Cafe) and road tours. To this day that club still maintains a close relationship with the NCM...not unlike other Corvette clubs around the country.

A couple of years, had a chance to attend the NCM bash on behalf of NCRS and represent us in a seminar. An old-timer of both NCM and NCRS, sat through the seminar and participated in a most vibrant discussion that followed...TM! My take away though, was the NCRS display, dated and disappointing. But I believe hear efforts to revive our presence at the Museum.

My point is NCRS has an NCM following and it should be incorporated into a revival of the NCRS presence at NCM. I'm sure that was the thinking of our NCRS leadership.
