Re: Tire selection judging question
It is easy. Radials will get you at least 60% standard deduction. To stay within the 10% for non-DOT, four matching 6.70X15 bias-ply tires of OEM brand and grade must be installed on the car. Goodrich Silvertowns are the easiest to obtain. The spare tire may be of another OEM brand and grade that was used during the same model year. If you can find a non-DOT tire, that is the place to pick up 1 point. It must be in good condition. Tires have 30 condition points.

Re: Tire selection judging question
I used non DOT NOS US Royal Safety 800s. Everything was correct in size, whitewall width, etc. Bought them new in 1990. 35 Miles since new. But I lost 70% of the points because they were supposed to be Air Ride, not Safety 800s. So be careful in selection details.- Top
