Long time NCRS member (do not know if he still was currently), Jack Murray passed away today after battling a long illness. I first met Jack at the Bloomington Gold special collection in June 1984. Jack and I formed a relationship that would last 40 years and we became best friends even though we were miles apart. I have a lot of memories/stories about Jack and I and all the good times we had. He is resting in peace with his wife, Keren. Jack owned some of the finest Corvettes to come off the St. Louis assembly line. I remember he would remove the steering wheels from his Corvettes, because he was paranoid about someone stealing them, but that's just one memory out of 1000 I have of him. RIP. 👍

Re: Jack Murray
Jack used to live in the Chicago area when he owned the green ZR2 that was owned by Ed Foss until his passing. We attended many tune up nights together in the old days of Illinois NCRS. Another of the "old timers" from back when owning Corvettes was a hobby. RIP Jack.Terry- Top

Re: Jack Murray
I met Jack many years ago and the two best 67's I owned came through Jack. I do have some good Jack stories and we often laughed about getting off to a rough start over a car many years ago. I ended up with a car he wanted, but when he found out we went to the same High School on the North side of Chicago, we became friends forever. The only bright side is he is with his wife now.- Top

Re: Jack Murray
Jack was always a hoot to talk to and be around. He was a tough guy with a warm heart. His joy, energy and enthusiasm for the hobby, especially the people involved, always shone brightly. He always would go an extra hundred miles to help me out. I was lucky to spend some time with him.- Top
