    1963 Upper-control arms clarification question

The 7th EditionTIM&JG page 177 states that the upper control arms are paintedgloss black as an assembly but picture CH 3.0 and footnote 2 statesthat evidence exists the nut & lock washer finish were natural &not plated. Ch 3.0 also shows the bushing & cross shaft asnatural, so what is acceptable? CH 3.0 does not match up footnote 2. All painted gloss black as an assembly that includes the cross shaft, rubber bushings, washers & bolt or just the control arm paintedor some other combination.
    Thanks, Jack

Painted as an assembly, except the ball joint is original. I would wait for the newest JG by the new 63-64 team leader before making decisions.

        Thanks Bob and Richard.

Does anyone have any idea when the next 63-64 JG is going be ready? Better yet would it be possible for 63-64 team leaders to provide a update on this issue? Would be great to know if this is going to change or left as is in the next JG. Goal was to get the front suspension hung on the chassis this summer and get my work areas opened back up for the next challenge.

        Thanks again
        Jack

Jack, the Team Leader, Joe Scafidi, has always been helpful. Might I suggest you go to the contacts link page and email Joe directly with your question.

To close out this thread with an answere. Thanks everyone.

HI Jack, We are currently working on the next update and it will be out by Corvettes at Carlisle.

Both upper and lower control arms are painted as follows.

Gloss Black: Control arm, bushings, cross shaft & attaching hardware.
Natural: Ball joints and all attaching hardware.

              I hope this helps.

              Regards,

              Joe Scafidi
