    NCRS Insider on YouTube

I'm probably the only NCRS member who wasn't aware of this YouTube video series which I stumbled upon the other day. There are currently 10 episodes (plus an introduction) all hosted by Steve Thesier covering a variety of topics. The stated intention is to release two episodes each month.

What a great way to increase the club's profile and share about our favorite sports car.

P.S. I just watched episode 10 about the history of C1-C3 emblems. It's well done and I certainly learned a lot. But can you spot at least two mistakes?

I have never heard of that either, thanks for the heads-up. I see Mr. Thesier has 4 judging points and has taken a 1980 to chapter judging and a 1990 to regional judging.

      Great Video

I believe the 1973 model did not have the L-48 Emblem on the hood.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, that's one of the mistakes. Correct if wrong, but L-48 is an aftermarket emblem.

As this thread is now a sticky is it safe to assume this NCRS Insider YouTube channel has the blessing from the appropriate parties to use the NCRS logos and speak as if speaking for NCRS?

I really don't want to pick on someone else's efforts, but one statement is a pretty glaring error in Corvette knowledge (6:50 mark):

I learned that at Altoona last year a yellow '66 convertible was deducted for having side exhaust becasue they were not available for the 1966 model year. Who knew???

Good question. Most likely endorsed and approved by the board but not well publicized, or at least the announcement was missed by the two of us and some others. Hopefully one of the officers will fill us in.

                  Re: NCRS Insider on YouTube

The podcast is authored by a member that is providing good information and promoting the NCRS
The author does have permission to use the NCRS log etc in his podcasts.
He will be doing a podcast promoting this years Convention and I will be meeting with him at the upcoming Regional in Marlborough
This podcast is another way to get the NCRS name and recognition out to the Corvette hobby

YouTube is now the "GoTo" information source for many folks. We should bear this in mind when working to attract new (younger) members.

Personally I think it is a good idea, but I certainly do not like NCRS name associated with inaccurate facts. Many have worked way to hard to develop a reputation as the go to source for Corvette information to allow inaccuracies by an uninformed individual to be released as fact.

Out of curiosity, I googled "Corvette restoration near me", and allowed google to see my location (which I always have off), and the New Mexico Chapter of NCRS was the third result.

Same Google search. Results were "National Corvette Restorers Society" was 4th.

(Although our local Midway USA Chapter web site did not show up - at least within 3 pages of responses.)
