    Re: 1965/1966 muffler blackout

Here are a couple more St Louis assembly line images:

    1) This was the 1966 convertible, that was in front of the previous 9-28-65 coupe body drop.
As you can see, therez a difference in blackout coverage... even during sequential builds:

    2) And here we have a 1969 body drop (unknown date):

      Jack,

      Great photos.

I can see on the ‘69 that the muffler blackout is extensive and pretty neat. So much for my previous statement that the blackout coverage decreased with successive model years.

On the ‘66 convertible, can you lighten up the close-up image to make it possible to see more of the muffler details?

Sorry... that was the best I could do (it has significantly more blackout coverage, with some runs towardz the rear of the car).

And the 69 photo shows blackout all over the spring. Great photos, Jack.

            Tim,

Yeah, that leaf spring gets the record in my book for most heavily covered with blackout, not counting 63. I wonder what the job qualifications were to be given the task of spraying the blackout

                Here you go Alan,
and here is how I grab a photo out of an online article. I take a screenshot of the page.. Then I import the screenshot to my photo album. Then I edit the photo of the page to eliminate all of the extraneous page stuff and enhance the image.. Then I import the image into this thread. There may be an easier way, with fewer steps, but I'm ignorant of it.
