Is the same Air Conditioner muffler unit used for small blocks and big blocks in 1967 or are there two different mufflers with specific differences? This is the aluminum part that attaches at the rear of the compressor with hoses attached.
1967 AC Muffler- were there different AC mufflers for SB and BB?

Re: 1967 Air Conditioner Muffler- were there different AC mufflers for SB and BB?
Mark, thanks for your reply, but I am asking about the Air Conditioning Muffler and not exhaust muffler. The Air Conditioning muffler is the part unit that attaches to the rear of the compressor and contains one of the Shreader valves (I think that is the upper). I have edited my original post and Subject line to add clarity to my question.Garry Barnes #18531

OK, it looks like you're right..."different AC mufflers for SB and BB?"
H
UPC C60 Sheet D8 item 22 shows two part numbers:
3895917 "Fitting & Muffler Assembly" which is apparently regular production (SB)
and
3885128 "L36" (which as you know would also include L68, but not L71, L89, or L88)
UPC C60 Sheet C1 item 1 shows only one part number for the compressor: 5910645
So it must be the same for SB & BB, but I wonder why the muffler would be different ?
Hope this helps now that I have more caffeine in me...
thx,
