Chrome over JB Weld

I have a pot metal part that needs a repair and JB weld would be ideal, but the part will need re-chroming. has anyone had success plating over a JB W repair?

If you are going to re-chrome the item why not let the vendor do the repair. He should know what is the best repair.

To your point Stephen, I think that is what is best. If it could get away with JBW, then I would just knock it out but the more I look into it, the more I am learning it does require skills and knowledge that I don't have. I will fall back on: When in doubt, ship it out
