'70 positive cable routing and clip

    Hello,
LS5 without C60. I searched but couldn't find an answer.

Also, UPC 12 sheet A11 shows how the positive cable attaches to the solenoid, however, is this the same for LS5? Where does the clip (item 6) fasten?

    Justin,

The battery cable bracket you're touching is attached using one of the bellhousing to engine bolts. The AIM diagram should be in the LS5 option section.

Thanks, Mark. I must have reversed the position around the cable as that configuration wasn't obvious. I'll follow up later this week when it's not 100+ degrees in the garage.

My '72 LS5 has this same cable bracket. The LS5 intro AIM page has a reference back to the UPC 12 noting installation is the same as the Base Production.

          Thanks guys,

I've figured the clip out. Does the harness with the other solenoid wires follow along the + cable as well?

Are you referring to the clip that attaches to the starter solenoid? (pic below)
Yes, the wires follow the + cable but only the length of the starter to the solenoid connections. ('72 AIM: UPC12, Sheet A9) The harness wires go into the upper clip of the clip

              Owen,
No. The clip I referred to was in my first post. THANK YOU for that screen shot of your AIM. I've been using the CSM schematic and 1970 AIM. My AIM depiction of the starter wiring is nothing like yours. I will use the one you provided to terminate the wiring.
