I see either no grooves or one groove when I check out ones for sale.
No one knows offhand for a 1962 (or I suspect 1963) which is close vs wide?

My suspicion is that one groove = wide ratio based on the 1963 300hp car I worked on 2 years ago.
    However, a data point of 1 is...1.

Thanks to Dave Perry and Jack Morocco for the chart.

The 1 groove input shaft DOES indicate a wide ratio T-10 in a 1962 Corvette.

Re: How to determine T-10 wide vs. close ratio tranny

Thank you all for your input!

I'm going with the posts and 63-64 TIMJG information that the high HP engine options all came with the close ratio. Mine is 360 HP. With my 4.11 rear it sure turns RPM at our local 75 mph speed limits.

Back in 1970 when I was attempting to order a new Corvette I was troubling over all the engine, close or wide tranny (4 speed was a no brainer), and differential ratio options. All those choices made my head spin. Then there was a strike or rumors of a strike at the factory. I was impatient and bought a new XKE instead. Is that cause for getting banned from this forum?
