The 58 I am restoring doesn't have any areas in the door jams that appear to have been cut out to accept the courtesy lamp. I am assuming that the courtesy lamp/light was an additional option buyers could choose.
The car does have the cut out above the radio section that could have help a courtesy lamp. I am thinking that all 58 Corvettes had the cut out for the courtesy lamp above the radio. Those that did not have the courtesy lamp option would of had a courtesy lamp delete blockoff plate.
Are my assumptions correct and since my car doesn't have the lights in the doors jams, I should use a courtesy lamp delete blockoff plate to cover up the hole above the radio?
Thanks in advance.
