I am very sad to report that another one of our Pittsburgh Tri-State Chapter NCRS Charter members has passed away. George Whipkey passed away peacefully yesterday, Friday, March 8th, 2024. George was 83. Many of you especially members of our PTSC knew him as "Road Tour George", because of all those early road tours he led throughout the tri-state area. He was a very proud Marine and served in the Vietnam War. He also served for 30 years in the SW Greensburg Police Department as a Sergeant. He served as our Chapter Events Coordinator from 1992 thru 1997, as well as our Annual Holiday Banquet "Toys for Tots" Drive Coordinator and was the logistics coordinator for the Westmorland County Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
