C3 speedometer repair services

Good morning-

Has anyone had recent experience with D & M Restorations? They advertise in the Driveline. I searched the posts and found a very unfavorable review but that was more than 5 years old. The reviewer said that D & M sold to a new owner and their quality was not that same. They are still in business so perhaps they have there quality issues resolved.

Any input on D & M or any other speedometer repair shop recommendation would be appreciated.

I've used Corvette Specialties Of MD West with great success.
I sent my tach and speedo from my L71 and it turned out great.
They now have my tach and speedo for my L89. The speedo has speed warning so they say that adds a level of difficulty.
Bad news is its going to take about 3-4 months to get it back

Deluxe Speedometer in Denver is an old company that has always done quality work. I have used them many times.

These people in Milwaukee recently did the tach and speedo in a 67 for me. While it was just a mechanical service, they turned it around in about a week. They also do restoration work as well.

Thanks everyone for your input. I just got off the phone with John with DeLuxe speedometer repair in Denver. 1 week turnaround and reasonable cost for a complete rebuild. Not a bad deal. Lots of good reviews on google.

Paul - Thank you for the recommendation. I live in GJ which is about 3 1/2 hours from Denver so it’s convenient for me. I want to have my radio gone through since I have the dash apart to remove the speedo. Do you have a recommendation for someone that you use for radio repair?

I agree Doctor Don in Texas is a good choice. I would prefer someone closer to home my theory being that the further it gets shipped the greater chance of shipping damage.

Hopefully Paul will respond with a recommendation for a radio repair shop that he or other NCRS members have used in the Denver area….

I just used Mo-Ma Manufacturing for repairing my 73 Vette Tac and speedometer. They are in Albuquerque momamanufacturing.com not cheap. They also recommended getting the cables redone, I used a reasonable guy in Colorado Springs www.speedoservice.com did both and had them back in about a week and a half from mailing to returning. The hard part was pulling the tac and speedometer!

Ken, the radios in both my C2 and C3 work well with no issues so I haven't used anyone for quite a few years. There used to be someone in Colorado Springs that would do speaker re cone and they did some radio repair also. I will try to dig up their contact for you when I get a moment. Paul
