Judging Question>Concours Stock Vs. Top Flight Judging

Thinking of taking one of my 66 Corvettes to a Judged Meet (ILNCRS) in the Spring.
Question:If the car involved has a Top Flight(Blue Ribbon) earned already and now is
entered into the Concours Stock Class IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE CAR WOULD EARN
LESS POINTS(%) IN THE CONCOURS STOCK CLASS THEN THE TOP FLIGHT CLASS??

I'll make up a scenario: (Not my car's points)>Say the car achieved 95% in the Top Flight
judging and got a Blue Ribbon. Now THE IDENTICAL SAME Car (Absolutely No Changes) could
only achieve 93% and get a Red Ribbon in the Concours Stock Class?? Just a thought and thanks>Larry

    Larry,

Suggest you download the Concours Judging Sheets and checkout what's judged. Concours is all about everything working properly, appearance and cleanliness. Originality is not a consideration.

Gary: Thanks for your reply;but you completely did not read my scenario above. I have read
what you suggested and have cars judged in both classes. Case in point>I have seen some cars
getting the Top Flight award that have a lot of Patina on it that would not judge well in the
Concours Stock Class. Still waiting for a answer for my Scenario Above. Thanks>Larry

        Larry,
Yes, your theory could indeed play out.
Since Concours is based on Condition, areas that received minor deduction in Flight Judging could (I say, "could") get hit harder.
Remember that Flight Judging points emphasize the Originality side of the sheet.
Point values in that column are always equal or greater than the Condition column.
Also, the major point values of Paint (with its flow chart) and Engine Block/Pad originality are not in the Concour class.
Those two areas contribute greatly to your Flight score and nothing to your Concours score.

True, but remember big deductions are possible for engine and paint in flight, so if the car did poorly in those areas, it would do better in Modified Class. I guess I am wondering why anyone would want to do this, to get another different color ribbon?

Michael:Thanks for the reply. Yes you are correct on the Blue Ribbons. I'll take the Concours Blue Ribbon over the Top Flight Ribbon
for sure. It's just better looking. When I bring people into my "ManCave" and show them the Ribbons the first one they look at is the
Concours Ribbon. Yes I know they represent different things; but on looks alone the Concours Wins.In my case I would like to get both
            types of Blue Ribbons. JMHO

Thanks to all that replied to my "scenario" above. One must remember that there are different reasons to run your car in this
class. (Concours Stock). There are rare/interesting/original cars out there that have gotten the Top Flight Blue Ribbon years ago. Now
NCRS will not judge them if Rare Options Exist W/O documentation. BUT
THERE ARE CARS THAT HAVE THIS DOCUMENTATION THAT DO NOT WANT TO SHARE WITH THE NCRS.(Privacy Reasons)
            Of course JMHO>Larry

I think the black one looks best. I am considering buying a Corvette for the Modified Class judging, I would want it to be very different from my Top Flight cars.

The Stock part of the Modified Class doesn't really interest me.
