Hi Members ; I am getting ready to install new carpeting in my 1956 Corvette . Could anyone post some pictures of the number of screws used and their exact or approximate location as installed at the factory ? Thanks kindly , Jim (1845)

Re: 56/57 Carpet screw locations
I have to go look at my '57 but when I replaced the original carpet in '65 I remember laying the new carpet in place and locating the existing holes through the new carpet with an awl. ('Shoulda kept the original carpet and soft top material.)- Top

Re: 56/57 Carpet screw locations
Thanks Mike and Steven for your replies . Do you recall how many screws you ended up using ? I did look in the 56/57 assembly manual and on page K9 sect A sheet 1,it shows only 4 screws & washers being used. They seem to be located on the inner top LH and middle section of the passenger side floor piece and the same on the driver side . it seems odd that only 4 screws are specified to hold all the carpet in place. They must have used adhesive for all other areas to hold it in place. Thanks again for your comments- Top

Jim,
FYI - the 56-7 Judging Manual has 2 nice photos of the carpet screws.
