    70 Transmission Interlock Cable Installation

I am getting ready to install a new transmission interlock cable on my 70 4-speed car. The cable has a black rubber grommet on one end. Does the black rubber grommet go on the transmission or steering column end?

    Thanks,
    Allen

Steering column end. I think the eyelets on either end accommodate different sized posts, so check that also.

Be sure to oil the cable before installation, and when shifting, always gently nudge into reverse to avoid kinking the cable.
Using a cable to push a lever is a serious design flaw.
