Air Filter numbers

Hi,
I have pretty much all the usual resource books...but cant quite figure out what was the original air filter element numbers...AC part number and GM part number. Car is a late 69 L46 4 speed. Any thoughts?

Yes, the AC212CW, GM #6421746 was the air filter installed on all 1969 Corvettes except 3X2 and L-88. It's first use for Corvettes was the 1965 model year and it continued to be used for most Corvette applications through 1972 (1970-72 for LT-1 only). In fact, it's still available from GM to this very day under its original AC and GM part numbers, 60 years after its introduction. However, there have been very many "iterations" of this filter over the years. Some folks even pay Big $$$ for the earlier versions. ALL are equally functional, though.

As you say, the A212CW was first used in the 1965 model year. Several years of Corvette application usage and also in the Chevrolet, Chevelle, Camaro, and Nova passenger car lineup. I believe that there some applications in the other GM divisions.

Had I been somewhat less diligent in my maintenance efforts, and with some foresight, I would have ( should have ) saved some of those early production unit examples of the A212CW as used on my L-78. Not to be.

The AC212CW filter element had applications throughout the entire GM car and light truck lines. Although these are virtually all older applications, the wide applications are probably why it's still available today.
