I've also seen the pivot pin like your showing on original pumps. I'd remove it and measure to find a similar one. Maybe here. They talk about that exact type where just the end opposite the head is hollow.

I found similar.
I'm just surprised that no one else seems to have run into this issue...?
I'm not sure if anyone commercially restores these since Arthur Gould retired.

I did one of these about 20y ago, and it had a tubular rivet that we peened over.

It turns out the neighbor of the car owner is a machinist and is going to make us a custom pin, even though he's a Ford guy.
I think he'll even install the new one for me.

Patrick, Arthur sold the business before he retired. The new owners are still rebuilding/restoring these. Most of us in MA still use them.

Google: "Fred Ballard fuel pump restoration." He did a fine job on a rare Mustang K Code fuel pump I had. But he does all makes. Nice guy and pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable. He may be able to help.

I've used Fred for a LOT of sealed fuel pumps. He knows me well.

I have no idea if he does this type of pump, offhand. And, this car can't wait the 4 months Fred is usually running to get one done.
