I wanted to try them, they come up in my google searches. Most companies that come up are no longer in business or have bad feedback.- Top

Re: 1967 restoration battery
Bill,
I saw one Jim's Battery Mfg customer post a lengthy, negative account of dealing with Jim's and wondered if it was representative of the product and customer support documented in that customer's posts. On the surface the battery Jim's makes seems an excellent solution for someone wanting a Delco R59 battery for a '67 Corvette that will be entered in judging meets. So I called Jim's and spoke with Alice who was quite knowledgeable concerning the R59 'look alike' battery they produce and sell. She confirmed that the positive post have a larger diameter than the negative post, their battery is an AGM battery and they can put whatever date and plant code on it you request. We also discussed pricing, which was very reasonable, as was the shipping charge.
My car is being restored this winter so I haven't ordered a battery from Jim's yet. When Alice understood my restoration timing, she suggested I wait 2-3 months to extend the warranty. My interaction with Jim's doesn't imply the negative issues noted by the individual who apparently had a poor experience. Accordingly, I intend to order a Jim's R59 battery shortly. Best.

Wayne). I've purchased several batteries from them and have recommended them to a couple more buyers.
As a matter of fact, I had the occasion to make a claim on a battery for my '72 convertible Corvette. After about a year of chasing a nagging occasional short somewhere in the elec system, I determined I had a bad battery. I called and Alice referred me to Jim. Jim was straight forward and told me to send the battery back to him. Upon receipt of the battery and examination, he called to say the battery was bad and he was sending me a new one. All I paid was shipping of the bad battery back to Jim's.
I will use Jim's Battery for a repro unit on my '67 GTO this spring.Don Lowe

Re: 1967 restoration battery
Don,
Thanks for posting your experiences with Jim's Battery. This reinforces my initial instinct and I will definately be purchasing a Delco R59 'look alike' from Jim's, complete with an appropriate date and plant code for my '67 coupe. Best.
