    It is interesting to see your Dow Corning DOT 5 in a plastic container. Mine (Same brand DOT5) are in quart sized metal cans. Plastic will allow moisture to penetrate over time but being non-hygroscopic with DOT 5 that is probably not much of an issue.

      I had another look at my gallon of DOT 5 previously pictured. I set the jug aside so that the fluid would enter the area above the fluid as it stands upright. It appears that the fluid is still quite purple (pretty much like FRESH other brand fluid I've seen and used) but not nearly as purple as seen in the previous photo. My guess is that the dye used to color the fluid somehow "stained" the polypropylene/polyethylene container and enough was "drawn out" of the fluid to cause a much more intense purple than the actual fluid, itself.
