Float settings for a Holley 3810 carburetor

    Hello,

My GM service manual for my '67 327/350 lists the float settings for the Holley 3810 carburetor as follows: Primary .170 Secondary: .300. Measurements are taken at the edge of the float that is farthest away from the pivot point. These seem awfully high to me and I'm wondering if they are correct and should be followed. Comments and experiences with this carb and its float settings would be most appreciated. Thank you very much.

Per the attached Holley document, the primary float level should be 5/16" and the secondary should be 11/32". I used these settings in the past on my '67 L79 and they worked fine. For some reason, the Chevrolet Service Manual lists different values from what Holley specifies.

      Hello David,

Thank you for the reply and the information provided. I've copied what is appropriate for my car and I will keep it with the rest of my information for the '67. Have a great weekend

      Joe

Been a while since I adjusted my, but isn't that with bowl turned upside down and measurements made from upside down top of float to inside top of bowl?

Yes, that's correct. The 1967 Holley model #3810 used a non-external-adjustable float that required the process you described.
