In 2013 we had a 67 at Bloomington. Close to us one of the days was Cliff and I believe it was his grandson. His 67 L88 racer was on display and it had a huge interest. Dana Mecom and Dave Burroughs were there too and the charged atmosphere and discussions around the L88 were shared with anyone there. Later that day we could hear them taking spins around the university horse track in the L88. Their laughs showed how much fun they were having. That was a fun weekend.

If you don't know much about all this, you should read this first:

Today on our blog, we are looking at a 1967 L88 Corvette that will soon be going to the Mecum Auction. This car is the most successful L88 Corvette race car of all time during its eight-year racing career.

The book "Against all odds" is a good read about this car and Cliff Gottlob.

After that weekend in 2013 I got a copy of " Against all odds" which has autographs of Cliff and most everyone involved. What a story and a great title. Everything seeming to go wrong but through pure tenacity all involved helped make it happen. They finished the 1970 Daytona endurance race against corporate racing teams and if an oil line wouldn't have slowed them down, they would have taken their class. For car folks this is a great read. Better yet, this would make a great movie. Anyone know any producers?
