Re: 65-66 Power Antenna Mast Length

Hi-Pocket guide says "about 30 inches" for optimum FM reception

      65-66 Power Antenna Question

Does anyone know how to unseize the top portion of the antenna. I have an antenna that goes up and down but not all the way as the top portion of mast will not move.

In looking at multiple photos of 66 vettes it appears the antenna does NOT retrack completely, but remains about a foot above the fender surface, probably due to the limited vertical space available under the fender surface for retraction........

You're correct Steve, about 13 1/2 " above the deck is as low as she goes.
