    John DeGregory has passed away!

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to report that our beloved John DeGregory passed away this evening. John had been in the hospital after recently falling at his home. John was comfortable and passed away with family by his side. Please let's all keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers. His family has indicated that his funeral will be private, but a memorial will be planned for the future.

John was a Charter member of our Pittsburgh Tri State Chapter and a 5-time past Chairman, as well as a Vice Chairman and Events Chairperson. He is considered an institution not only in our chapter but for the NCRS as a whole. John was known for his passion for Corvettes and was "THE" authority within the NCRS community for Rochester Fuel Injections. He was also a great, kind and caring person. Many of you have certainly known John much longer than I have so I'm sure you have many great stories and fond memories.

We in the PTSC have certainly been privileged to have had him as our own all this time. He will certainly be missed.
I have attached a photo of John I took a couple years ago at Corvettes at Carlisle in his trailer. A familiar site to many of you I'm sure.too

*Please note that since this original posting John’s family has now decided to have a service to celebrate his life. See the announcement in Vinnie’s post #50 in this thread!

What a sad day for the Corvette hobby! John was always a pleasure to talk to and freely gave his expert advice. The Fuel Injection community will never be the same, we lost Jim Thorpe this spring. Rest in Peace!

RIP John, you always took time to answer my questions and guide me in the right direction for a solution, you rebuilt the FI on my car 31 years ago, still working my friend !!!!!!

Re: John DeGregory has passed away!

Very, very, sad news. I just noticed this thread and am so shocked.

                Rest In Peace John.

Condolences to the entire family along with the entire Corvette Community.

John helped me so much when I did my first fuelie restoration. Always ready to help and share his knowledge. One of my many mentors.

He will be missed for many reasons.... His helpful nature, fun to speak with, his knowledge so great, and just a fine person to know.

Re: John DeGregory has passed away!

Happy to have called John my friend. Yes, he was an authority on FI but I spent many times with John in Carlisle and other shows around the United States. John was a man of deep faith in God and fellow man. Rest in Peace dear friend. Thanks for stopping by!

Very, very sad indeed.. The hobby lost a true icon. And a great friend to anyone owning an old FI Corvette.
I will think of him often. He is irreplaceable. Sincere condolences to his family and closest friends. RIP JD.
