Mark, regarding side posts on the batteries, yesterday I examined a C5 for a friend who purchased same based on my examination of a 1997, it had side posts on the battery.

Ed, Yes, nice talking to you.

So, your '07 LS2 needs the PF48. The PF46 was for '05-'06 LS2(base), and same years LS7(Z06) used PF48. In 2007, GM changed the filter to PF 48 for both LS2 and LS7.

See this thread HERE ....and post#21 in particular.

Also Ed, as a follow up to our discussion about that label on the rearward plastic radiator cover. I had to open the hood this morning to check my battery, It was at 12.3V, and since it was disconnected after the January meet(however maybe now that I think of it, a week or so later), I decided to hook up my maintenance charger.

While in there I took a few photos of that label. As we concluded, your '07 has 60k+ miles, mine 80k+. Over time this label deforms, shrinks, and the characters get blurred. We surmised that it's likely due to heat in the engine bay, in particular at the top of the radiator.

          Blurred and distorted like this....

I don't know if it's feasible to get these made as reproductions easily, as it's a plastic coated label, my guess, made of a plastic material as its "blurriness" is probably related to that. Meaning it's easier for plastic to shrink and deform.

I'll give my "Label Guru" a shout with some photos and see what he thinks. He's the same guy that Harry is working with on some other labels. My advantage is he's very close by and a good friends' son.

Maybe another option is to contact salvage operations and see if they have those covers on low miles cars with nice labels. I'll poke around doing that too when I get some time.

Here's a shot of the cover, full width.

Rich, those labels were still available from GM last year. Search on part number. Chuck and I found one each at a dealership in North Carolina as I remember.

Rich, the label Chuck and I got was 10323111, Maybe 2004 - 2006 only.

Anyway, I got mine at Modern Chevrolet, 5955 University Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27105. Was About $25.00

Rich, regarding the LS-2 oil filter. My 2007 LS-2 was built in June of 06 (VIN #00053) and the engine had to have been built prior to that. At what point in 06 did they switch to the PF-48 from the PF-46. It would appear I'm in a quandary as to switch over dates, or it could be a question that cannot be determined. I will give that problem to his master Pete B.

                  Ok, thanks Harry.

Mine appears to be 15824655(I can't see the last 2 digits on mine but, it is shown in the text as described in the JG. Thanks authors! Gee I love this C6 JG!).

However the wording is a bit confusing as it states that the 15824655 was used for some 2005(but maybe this could read :

"... as well as later model years".

gmpartsgiant(they reference GM info), states the 10323111 label is for 2005, and most 2006/2007. But my '07 has the 15824655

Note 2004 is the C5 so either the GM reference is incorrect or they used it on the earlier years also.
                  20240429_062440.jpg

gmpartsgiant.com has the 15824655 for $22, HERE, and I also found it on that South American River site.... HERE, for $12. ( I ordered 2 yesterday)

What is also interesting is that the gm parts site above states that the 15824655 is replaced by 22828263, and that it also replaces labels 15264538, 20941483, but..... 22828263 is "discontinued" now. There must be a substantial supply of the previous label 15824655 still in GM stock so they're trying to get silly guys like me, and others who are restoring their C6's to buy them all up....lol.

Ed, What filter is on your car, presently? Is it GM or aftermarket? If unsure and you had it done by a outside shop, maybe your invoice has it shown?

There is no known method, that I'm aware of, to see if there was a mid-production change of use between PF46 & PF48, unless GM catalogued it by vin#. I don't know if Pete has access to any of that stuff. Pete?

Re: 2007 Coupe Judging Preparation for the Florida Regional

I was missing the French translated label on my Master Cylinder. It's part# 15770192. It's unavailable anywhere I looked, GM, aftermarket, nowhere. I can understand why. Why would this be there? Unbeknownst to me. Why was it "English" one might ask?

It translates to something like this according to the JG.... "CLEAN CAP BEFORE FILLING. USED ONLY DOT 3 FLUID FROM A CLEAN CONTAINER."

So I found a Chevy Silverado MC on ebay using the number because the seller used the "label" number as the MC part#. Here
                    s-l1600.jpg

I managed to snag the label off of it(the photo) and cropped/colorized it into this. I'll see if I can get it a little better so we may have availability at some point. I'd need to get it plasticized somehow and see if it would look okay mounted on the MC.
Edit: "availability" mean gratis. I plan on no monetary exchange request for my efforts.

I used a combo of MS Paint and Irfanview.
This was what I started with....
                    15770192Label.jpg

                    Tilt/rotate & Replace Color mode....
                    15770192LabelMod5.jpg

Sharpen the part#. This took a while.

HaHa I was thinking of that but I have too much junk as it is. Digital images don't take up shelf space either.

This is for Joe Lucia, I purchased 2 new PF46 oil filters, these do not have an E in the I/D, the bottom has script, in light green, bearing the following nomenclature, 08252Q 17:38. Are these date codes in Julian or something else. Your expert advice would be greatly appreciated.
