64 Turn signal replacement wire length

I purchased two new turn signal units for my 64. The length of the wires seem long once the rubber end plug is mounted in the inner fender hole. Any ideas out there on the length of the wire harness from the fixture to the end plug? Or, do I just loop the harness to take up the slack? Thanks in advance.

    Ron,
Simply loop the excess in front of the bumper bracket (not around it) so that it doesn't hang out in the wheel well. I can take a picture later if you need one.
Not the best picture but you should see what I'm talking about.
