    1963 Shock Absorber Rubber "Caps"

I'm taking my 63 apart for restoration and then removed the dust shields. I found these rubber caps on top of the shock absorber tower. I've never seen anything like this before. Was this an add on with the replacement shock absorbers?? OR????

Feedback would be appreciated. There's nothing in the 63 AIM that mentions this.

I don't think these caps were ever originally used. Do the shocks appear original, GM replacement, of aftermarket replacement?

I got a set with each of my Koni shocks. Protected the threads and they stayed clean.
          It's a good life!

63's or any other C2's did not come from GM St. Louis with those caps!

Thanks. I thought they were "unusual" for a C2. I thought they were "special" to my car.
